Check the forum rules occasionally, to see if there have been any new changes.
Proboard rules
User's web site may not contain content promoting the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, sex, pornography, nudity, or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm (multi-level marketing), pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity.
Local rules
Things you can't do
1. No pornography. No extreme disgusting images, or any offending images.
2. No flaming, or disrespect toward other members.
3. No pointless threads/posts (SPAM). These are the stuff of lesser forums.
4. If you are already generally known in other forums by a certain username, you will use the same username here. If you're known elsewhere as Joe Blough, you will not show The Screaming Potato as your username.
5. Duplicate accounts are only permissible if you intend to use them for blogging purposes. Any blogging Nom de Plume must be approved beforehand. One blogging name per user.
6. No whining or complaining about the management of this forum.
7. Higher ranks are based on merit. Don't just say you want a promotion. Prove to me that you deserve it, by making intelligent posts. Your conduct on other forums can be a consideration.
8. No asking to be a moderator. We don't need any now. If we do need one, I will appoint someone personally.
9. Post threads in the appropriate forum. For example, a religious "day brightener" goes in Spiritual Awakenings.
10. I have a really big soapbox and get preachy at times. Very preachy. Just accept it. If you find I'm getting "too preachy", please see rule 6.
11. No bumping old topics, unless there is an appropriate amount of new and relevant information. "Me too" is not relevant information.
12. Don't post other people's private info such as location, name, pics without their permission.
13. There will be no attacks on other forums.
. a. No implied attacks on other forums.
. b. No congratulating someone for attacking another forum.
. c. No bragging about how you attacked another forum.
. d. All of the above applies everywhere if the attacks are directed against this forum. You are not allowed to plot an attack against this forum if you're sitting at a McDonald's in Ecuador.
14. No petitions to ban someone.
15. No plagiarism. No re-posting other peoples' posts without their permission. If they give you permission, you must give credit and keep the original context. No twisting someone else's words, especially in the public blogs. In the private areas, you may quote them as you see fit, but only for discussion and not to start a war.
15. No trying to weasel your way around the rules. If you're not sure if something is OK, ask!
16. Becoming a member of this forum is by invitation only. If we don't want you as a member, too bad - you're out. We don't need a good reason. We don't need to "prove" you don't deserve to be a member. The reason for not wanting you as a member might be because it's Tuesday afternoon. Too bad if you're not accepted. No appeal.
17. Asking to become a member of this forum implies an agreement to abide by all the forum rules.
Things you should do (or at least try)
-Report violators.
-Be creative and thoughtful. Spread knowledge and wisdom.
-If you've had a bad day, talk to us before going berserk, we could help you.
-Make suggestions, we like to run this in a way everyone can enjoy.
-Keep good fellowship, if you don't like someone, I'm sure no one wants to know. If need be, agree to disagree.
